Started at Block Institute in 2009, the Brightest Star Awards recognize the outstanding achievements of adults living with developmental disabilities. Finalists are selected in the fields of Spirit, Leadership, Wellness, Talent, Independence, Mastery, Fellowship, Citizenship, Growth and Community. A Brightest Star is chosen from these ten finalists to represent the Block Institute and serve as a role model and a beacon of excellence for their peers.
